Original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones, Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness together with Rob Townsend, Marcus Cliffe and Simon Currie reunite with very special guest and former member Mike d’Abo. After the successful reunion in 1991, The Manfreds have toured extensively, received standing ovations nationwide and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Now they are back with their timeless anthems including Do Wah Diddy Diddy, 5-4-3-2-1, Mighty Quinn, Pretty Flamingo and many more!

RUSSIAN STATE BALLET & OPERA HOUSE: GISELLE

CONGRESS THEATRE - Friday 5 December 2014

Returning for their second visit this autumn, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House return with two additional magical ballets. Giselle is perhaps the greatest of all the romantic ballets and one of the most sought-after roles in ballet, as it demands technical perfection, outstanding grace and lyricism, as well as great dramatic skill. The story of a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart when she finds out the man she loves is engaged to someone else, can her love can save the remorseful Albrecht from his certain fate.

RUSSIAN STATE BALLET & OPERA HOUSE: THE NUTCRACKER

CONGRESS THEATRE - Saturday 6 December 2014

Returning for their second visit this autumn, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House return with two additional magical ballets. An eternal seasonal favourite, The Nutcracker tells the story of Clara whose godfather Drosselmeyer gives her a Nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. When the doll turns into a Prince the magic begins and Clara is swept away on an unforgettable adventure. As spell-binding today as it was when it was first performed 120 years ago, this is an ideal introduction to the magic that is classical ballet.

GRITTER! GREAT BIG CHRISTMAS SING (EAST SUSSEX MUSIC SERVICE)

WINTER GARDEN - FLORAL HALL - Monday 8, Wednesday 10 & Thursday 11 December 2014

The story begins with a typical school problem – What shall we do for our Christmas show? During the performance we are introduced to Father Christmas and Tim the Snowman before we meet the East Sussex Gritter drivers and their machines and we find out about the final show.
Specially composed for East Sussex children this unique Christmas story will be performed by children from primary schools across the county. Pupils will be joined by one of East Sussex Music Service’s flagship Youth Ensembles.

EASTBOURNE'S TEA DANCES

WINTER GARDEN - Tuesday 9 December,

Pull on your dancing shoes and come on down to enjoy a Tea Dance at Eastbourne's atmospheric Winter Garden. With live musical accompaniment from Chris Mannion these tea dances are the perfect place to socialise with friends, meet new people and trip the light fantastic, see you there!
