Preston Manor – all summer
Be bewitched at Preston Manor this summer - participate in a real pagan ritual and come away with your own spell!
To celebrate Preston Manor’s ‘Folklore, Magic and Mysteries’ display, meet real witches in their secret kitchen garden, in a fun, family-friendly environment.
Witches will perform genuine pagan rituals based on writings by author and witch Doreen Valiente, whose tools form part of the display currently running in the Macquoid Room at the Manor.
Members of the public who may never have seen a real ritual before are particularly welcome; this is your chance to get a small taster of how modern pagans practice. Attendees will be invited to participate and be taught how to work a spell which they can take home with them.
Booking in advance is required as limited tickets are available each time. The ceremonies will last around 40 minutes, following which you are invited to stay for a small social to share a glass of mead or juice in the garden and meet the witches.
These are rain-or-shine events, so come prepared with comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Tickets are £10. Children are welcome and there is good disabled access.
Events take place 14:30-16:30 in the walled kitchen garden on the following Saturdays: July 16th, August 20th and September 3rd.
