Fishbourne Roman Palace welcomes novelist Lindsey Davis author of the Falco books, on the evening of 4th October. Lindsey is best known for her series of Falco novels set in Ancient Rome, and will be talking about her latest book, The Graveyard of the Hesperides, starring Flavia Albia.
Attend this one-off evening event to find out more about the inspiration for Lindsey’s writing and discover where her research into life in the Roman Empire has taken her. There will be a chance to hear her talk about her work, ask questions and purchase signed copies of her latest book. As a writer with a passion for the Roman period and with a book set at Fishbourne already in her repertoire, Lindsey Davis really does bring the Roman period to life.
Lindsey has been a supporter of the Roman Palace for many years and the museum is looking forward to welcoming her back. She has been writing about Romans since 1989 and her Roman ‘detective’ Falco has featured in about 20 of her books. Fishbourne Roman Palace is the location for A Body in the Bath House, which is the 13 th book of the series, when Vespasian sends Falco over to Britain to investigate problems with the building of the Palace in AD75.
Senior Museum Assistant Tess Fradgley, who is a keen reader of Lindsey’s books, said ‘I am really looking forward to seeing Lindsey again and finding out more about her new book, which should be good crime romp. Her books recreate the trials and tribulations of life in the Roman Empire.’
