WWT Arundel Wetland Centre and Viewpoint Optics announce the first Arundel Birdwatching Weekend on March 23 & 24 2013. Sponsored by Viewpoint Optics, the weekend of talks, workshops and activities offers something for the beginner looking to get a head-start in bird watching through to the experienced wildlife photographer. Displays of binoculars and telescopes, camera equipment and outdoor essentials from local and national retailers will be located throughout the visitors centre and outbuildings around the reserve.
For those looking to take up bird watching for the first time, Viewpoint Optics will be running bird watching workshops during the weekend – and for more advanced birdwatchers, there are digiscoping demonstrations with an outdoor optics testing area. The six bird hides in a variety of habitats provide great opportunities for birders to put it all into practice around the reserve all weekend.
Arundel Wetland Centre introduces visitors to the wonders of wetland birds and their habitats, offering nose-to-beak encounters with some of the world’s most dramatic and rare birds. The Wetland Discovery Boat Safari runs from between 11am-3:30pm each day. Visitors can watch the Diving Duck Feed at 2 pm daily or hand feed the collection of wildfowl from around the world with grain from the shop.
Arundel Birdwatching Weekend activities are included in the regular admission price. WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is open from 9:30am-4:30pm seven days a week at Mill Road, Arundel BN18 9PB. Call 01903 881530 for event information.
List of confirmed Exhibitors: Viewpoint Optics, Zeiss Sports Optics, Manfrotto, Opticron, Swarovski, Hawke, Minox, Bird Watching Magazine, Pegler’s of Arundel, artist Nick Ward, Bognor Camera Club, Whitby’s of Chichester/Sony, BTO and Birdwatch Magazine.
