Comedy makes a welcome return to the De La Warr Pavilion as we host comedian, writer and actor Marcus Brigstocke in his new show The Brig Society. A satire on Cameron’s Big Society, the show is no less than the total restructuring of every aspect of life in Britain organised through the medium of jokes. "See this show and win a free hospital or school. Second prize: a major High Street bank!"
Fans of Radio 4 will be familiar with Marcus’ voice in popular shows such as Just a Minute, Newsquiz, The Today Programe, The Now Show and The Unbelievable Truth,. Regular TV appearances include Mock The Week, Would I Lie To You and Have I Got News For You.
Read some of the great reviews this show has garnered at the Edinburgh Festival this year :
“cleverly thought out, sharp and funny. His facial expressions, voices and a surprising ability to beatbox – along with his sarcastic and razor-sharp wit – make for an enjoyable evening.” Fringeguru
“I’ve seen a lot of comedy in the Fringe this year and Big Society has been one of my favourites” Edinburgh Reviews
“‘The Brig Society’” is sharp, intelligent and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. Tackling his material with a fresh and original approach, once again Brigstocke eloquently delivers a thought-provoking yet hilarious hour of entertainment. Forge Society
Don’t miss one of the UK’s most prolific and funniest comedians, performing in Bexhill for the first time.
