Fun for all the family at the award winning Borde Hill Garden. Throughout the school holidays we have an exciting programme of events for children and adults alike. These events are at no extra cost, just our standard admission prices apply.
Kids' Summer Fun runs from 1st to 31st August and includes activities such as Arts and Crafts, Storytelling, Giant Garden Games and Seed-Planting. The fun days will be every Tuesday and Thursday in August. We are excited to see the return of the hugely popular and educational 'Animazing', offering visitors the chance to get up close and personal with a menagerie of exotic wildlife, including insects, snakes, hedgehogs and tortoises. We will also be welcoming Robbie the Magician (and his bunny) to perform his miraculous tricks, balloon modelling, and close-up magic.
On the 26th of August is the Teddy Bears Picnic we invite children to dress up their teddy bear and enter the 'Best Dressed' teddy bear competition. Pack your picnic, bring Ted and come and join in the fun!
Every day throughout August there is an interactive and educational Sensory Nature Trail for children to complete. The trail leads you around the Garden, looking out for clues. We also have our adventure playground, set in sprawling parkland with landscaped lakes with a host of pondlife to explore.
To ensure adults are also entertained during the summer months, we have arranged our Musical Sundays. Every Sunday in August between 2-4pm, visitors can come and enjoy an afternoon of breathtaking cello playing with Ensemble Reza’s cellists Pavlos Carvalho and Sarah Dubost-Hautefeu. Music will include sublime sonatas by Barriere and Popper, foot tapping Tangos by Jardel, and heavenly harp by Eloise Irving. The music is set in the spectacular grounds using the Garden as a stage providing a glorious backdrop to relax and enjoy the sound and scenery with a picnic and all the family.
Borde Hill is a dog-friendly attraction and we welcome our canine friends on leads. We also allow ball-games and barbeques in the parkland.
After all the activity, visitors can chill out with a picnic overlooking the lakes in the parkland or relax at Cafe Elvira and enjoy a mouth watering selection of home cooked dishes.
