Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2012 summer season at the Royal Pavilion launches on Thursday 28 June with Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. One of the most enduringly popular works in the classical repertoire, Mozart Clarinet Quintet is rarely out of the 'top ten' in the Classical charts and appears frequently in film on television and in adverts. Here it’s heard complete and played by five principals from the orchestra.
Now in its fourth year, this popular series of short concerts for a relaxing summer's evening, features works performed by ensembles formed from the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra soloists. The concerts take place in the stunning setting of the Royal Pavilion’s Music Room.
The concert programme includes:
Thursday 28 June
Thursday 12 July
Carnival of the Animals
Thursday 2 August
Thursday 23 August
Thursday 6 September
All concerts start at 7pm and tickets (£15; £12 Friends of Brighton Philharmonic and Royal Pavilion members) can be purchased by telephone on 03000 290902, online at www.brighton-hove-rpml.org.uk or in person at the Royal Pavilion Shop.
The concerts are sponsored by Martin and Frances Lindsay-Hills. Free programme booklets are sponsored by Julian Pelling.
