Do you have the Quack Factor? Try the events in the Ducky Decathlon this June at Arundel Wetland Centre to find out! This half term families can complete a series of challenges like the Lily Pad Leap and the Swan Lift for some natural, ducky fun. "This year sport is at the forefront in the UK" said Learning Manager Claire Drew "and our Ducky Decathlon is a fun way to celebrate it."
During Quack Factor visitors can ‘dabble and dive’ with nets in the Pond Explorer station and use the video microscope to discover minibeasts! Families can get duck-close and personal with wildlife during boat trips through Wetlands Discovery. Ducky Designs craft sessions will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons daily in The Holt building.
In June the ducklings, goslings and cygnets around the grounds will add the Quack Factor to a family visit. The trumpeter swans and Bewick’s swans are both nesting on eggs that will soon hatch into lovely cygnets. "Its the perfect time of year for families to see young life emerging on the reserve’’ says centre manager Olivia Iles, ‘’and to help protect it by joining the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.”
Crafts, pond dipping and the Wetland Discovery Boat Safaris are included with your admission price for Quack Factor at Arundel Wetland Centre from Saturday 2 June through Sunday 10 June.
