Brighton is full of bag ladies who know that nothing puts a smile on your face like some new arm candy. Now you can add to your collection without feeling guilty by coming along to Handbags for Hospices at 8pm on Thursday March 1, 2012 at Temptation Cafe, 56 Gardner Street, Brighton.
They’ll be a glass of Prosecco on arrival and some tasty nibbles to sample whilst checking out what’s on offer. Whether you prefer high end or high street, satchels or shoppers, cross-body or clutches, there’s bound to be something that takes your fancy. If you’re bored with one (or more) of your bags, bring it along and the money it raises will go to the Martlets.
If your collection is more Mulberry than Matalan, you can even place a reserve on the sale price. If your bag sells for more than that, you get the reserve and the Martlets gets the rest! All the bags on offer will be numbered, so you can make a secret bid on your favourite(s) and the winning bidders will be announced at the end of the evening. Any unsold bags can then be taken back home or donated to the hospice.
The event is run by handbag addict Abigail Bowen, one of Colour Me Beautiful’s top 100 consultants. So you can have a fun evening out with friends, buy a bag and get some free fashion and style advice while you’re at it. Bags can be dropped off in advance at the Temptation Café, or you can arrange collection by contacting email@example.com
The Marlets Hospice has provided expert end of life care free of charge to those in Brighton and Hove since 1997. Support from the community is vital, as Martlets need to raise over £9,000 a day just to keep going.
