Lagoon Wake Park, which was the South Coast’s first System 2.0 cable to open last April, has built on the success from the past season and announced a new name for the cable park as well as the opening of a second cable on Hove Lagoon.
With the start of the season last Friday (6th April) and the reopening of all the facilities, Harvey Dawkins, owner of Lagoon Watersports, has confirmed that the name of the wake park has been changed from Wake Up Brighton to Lagoon Wake Park.
Further news include the official accreditation by the British Water Ski & Wakeboard Association, which will put the Lagoon Wake Park and Brighton & Hove on the map of the national and international competition circuit too.
The second cable means that there will be more riding opportunities this season, giving more people access to a growing sport. On top of the second Sesitec System 2.0 the arrival of new sliders and obstacles has excited the riders of all levels and ages too, with lots of sessions already pre-booked.
The new toys include the much loved roof top rail from Industry Wake Parks which was used at the London Boat Show and will have a new home at Hove Lagoon from this spring, as well as 24 foot long Incline rail from Industry Wake Parks and a box with bank rail.
Lagoon Wake Park has been described as ‘pretty damn red hot’ and current World champion Nick Davies said: “The roof top rail is so sick! Perfect length and width and so smooth for long presses and tech tricks!”
Pro rider Matt Crowhurst will be running regular coaching sessions at Lagoon Wake Park throughout the season, dates will be announced soon.
Lagoon Wake Park is sponsored by ION Essentials.
