ITV News' Natasha Kaplinsky enjoyed a break in the rain to open a new 1 mile woodland trail at Wilderness Wood near Uckfield in East Sussex.
After cutting the green ribbon, local celebrity Natasha brought her family (and dogs) along for on the first ever guided tour around the new trail route. Despite the heavy rain over the previous weeks, the inaugural walk was blessed with sunshine, and walkers exploring the trail's picturesque paths, bridges and steps built up a healthy appetite for an organic lunch in the wood's timber-frame Barn cafe.
ITV's Natasha said: "I've been coming to Wilderness Wood for years, and there's always something new to see or do. It's great to have this resource close by as a constant source of unique activities in the great outdoors. This trail is a wonderful way to explore the woodland in a new way. I wish Joanna and Jonathan [Wilderness Wood's owners] and their team the best of luck in all their exciting plans over the coming months and years".
The new trail is now open for visitors to explore at leisure, guided by an informative trail leaflet.
