Prominent Racing Personalities Race to Plumpton in Aid of the Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre on Monday 20th October.
Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre is holding its 15th annual fund raising raceday at Plumpton Racecourse on Monday 20th October. Moorcroft is beautifully situated in the heart of the glorious Sussex Weald countryside as just one of three BHA accredited racehorse rehabilitation centres in the UK.
One of the highlights of the day is the very popular Shetland Pony Gold Cup where 12 Shetland ponies line up, sponsored by many well known owners, with the Tote operating a special pool on the race. Shetland Ponies in the race can be sponsored for £250 - please contact the Plumpton Racecourse office on 01273 890383 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Moorcroft Raceday at Plumpton has raised over £500,000 since its inception, and the annual raceday is its most successful fundraising event contributing 20% towards the annual running costs of the Centre. The money is vital in underpinning the Centre’s work in retraining racehorses for life after racing as recreational or companion horses.
Moorcroft Raceday is supported by many prominent racing VIPs who attend the Moorcroft Marquee Lunch and Auction. The auctioneer this year is racing personality Mike Cattermole who will be encouraging guests to purchase a number of exciting “money can’t buy” lots on offer. This is an unmissable opportunity to rub shoulders with many of Racing’s leading owners and trainers and the sought-after tickets for the Moorcroft Marquee Package are available for £90 per person from the Plumpton Racecourse office on 01273 890383.
