The fourth annual Arundel Food Festival will take place in town on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2013. Other events throughout the town and surrounding countryside will take place during the following week, Monday 21st to Sunday 27th October.
The Food Festival starts with the regular monthly Arundel Farmer’s Market. The following day is “Activity Sunday”, a series of free, family focused events including apple pressing and street cookery demonstrations using local, seasonal food; plus a ‘veg swap’, allotment visits and a chance to learn more about the new Arundel Community Orchard. Local foraging experts Forest Knights will also be showing children how to discover a few tasty treats growing locally and to cook their own Bannock Bread over a fire.
Other events around town and in the local area include a bake-offs and Masterchef style competitions for budding local bakers & chefs of any ages; plus special menus on a local, seasonal theme around town. There will be the chance to discover the local food producers with tastings organised at various local shops and the newly opened Arundel Museum.
The Arundel Food Festival is a celebration of local food and drink. The historic market town of Arundel is positioned between the South Downs National Park and the Sussex coast, enabling it to provide some of the freshest and tastiest food and drink in the South East.
