Bognor Regis

You’d never guess that Bognor has roots as a small fishing village if it weren’t for the handful of small fishing boats dotted along the coast.

Today, Bognor Regis is a bustling seaside resort that, records more sunshine than any other town in Britain. The beachfront is equipped with a wide promenade flanking the stones, perfect for a jog…or maybe an afternoon stroll with an ice cream. The town has plenty of places to relax, from the beach to one of the town’s many parks and gardens.

Hotham Park has open spaces for visitors to enjoy the outdoors, as well as tennis courts, a putting green and a crazy-golf course. One of Bognor’s most famous family attractions is Butlins, the holiday park where kids can swim, play sports, watch shows and more.

The seafront is also well equipped with amusements and rides for kids to enjoy during the warmer months. The open-air market in the town square is a highlight to the shopping area, but there are numerous boutiques, department stores and high street chains to please every pocket.

Bars and restaurants line the beach, giving Bognor a continental vibe, but head into town and you can equally find a selection of tradition pubs and historic buildings. With a lively nightlife, it’s not hard to find a trendy bar or nightclub to party until the early hours. For those who enjoy a bit of culture, live music and performances can be found most weekends.

Bognor is home to the Alexandra Theatre, the town’s leading venue for arts, music and entertainment for all audiences. Some other prominent events in Bognor’s calendar include the ROX Music Festival, the Sands of Time Seaside Festival and the Bognor Carnival, held annually during the summer.

And, as the sunshine capital of Britain, what better place to head for a summer holiday?  There are plenty of local places to stay, from guest houses to bed and breakfasts amd self catering cottages to caravans.
