Uckfield

Developed around the River Uck (part of the Ouse), Uckfield is a lively town in the Wealden District of East Sussex. One of the larger towns in the region, it lacks the historical village charm of some of its close neighbours. However, it more than makes up for this with its facilities and the many fantastic attractions that can be found nearby.

The oldest house, dating back to the 15th century is still standing today, and has become a small, local museum. The National Trust site, Sheffield Park is in Uckfield and makes a relaxing day out amongst the landscaped gardens, with its spectacular displays of flowers and beautiful lakes. Uckfield is also home to The Picture House, a fantastic venue where you can catch a range of entertainment, from live ballet to the latest Hollywood Blockbuster.

The town also has a range of leisure facilities including the Utopia Leisure Centre and two golf clubs: East Sussex National is an impressive golf resort and spa that attracts keen golfers from all over the country. Throughout the year, Uckfield plays host to many local events, bringing the community together for festivities and celebrations. During the Christmas season, the local church holds a Classical Concert Spectacular, showcasing a selection of talent from pianists to rising opera stars. There is also a farmers market held on the first Saturday of each month selling local and fresh produce.
