Brighton Well-Being Holistic Arts Festival

Had a hard day? Head down to Hanover Community Centre on 10th April for the Brighton Well-Being Holistic Arts Festival. It’s guaranteed to be a complete rejuvenation for the body, soul, spirit and mind.  The day is designed to make you feel refreshed, repaired and revived through a series of workshops and demonstrations of various holistic healing methods.

Visitors can experience a Reiki massage - an old Japanese technique taking the West by storm. Designed to reduce stress and promote relaxation by laying hands on different parts of the body, the idea is that life force energy flows through us in different ways. Through Reiki, participants should feel a radiance flowing through them to heal ailments and encourage general well being.

Get your feet out at the Reflexology stand and experience a foot massage like never before. Oils and creams are used whilst applying pressure to points on the feet that are said to interact with the rest of the body. Reflexology reduces tension, improves circulation and eases stress simply through resetting the body’s equilibrium.

At the Crystal Therapy stand, crystals and minerals are placed on or around you to induce deep relaxation, release stress and promote a balance of energies within your body. The crystals are placed on painful areas or ‘chakras’ and are said to absorb and diffuse energy around the body to rebalance our natural rhythms. Certain colours have different healing properties, including reds, yellows and oranges that stimulate energy, and cool colours, like blue and green, that are calming.

Head to the Gong bath for some meditation to the sound of vibrations, or have an artistic soul drawing of your aura. And if this is not really for you, why not go for a classic back massage? And when all the talk about healthy living makes you want to indulge, you can still dig in to one of the homemade cakes on offer at the delicious sweet stands!
