Shepherds Tea Rooms

The gentle buzz of contented conversation fills these cosy tea rooms throughout the day until closing time in the late afternoon. Polished wooden floorboards, pale walls and cosy tables create a welcoming atmosphere inside the fine Georgian building. A conservatory-style room at one end allows plenty of light to filter through to the main tea shop, where attentive waitresses serve the home-made food. Salads, sandwiches and at least seven rarebits are among the savoury choices, while early visitors can enjoy a cooked breakfast. The menu offers several loose-leaf teas and popular special blends, and traditional afternoon or cream teas along with scrumptious cakes and roulades.
