‘Are we nearly there yet?’ These five words sum up bored children so make them a thing of the past with family holidays in Sussex. Visitor attractions are geared up for kids with special family days out and child friendly activities that take the hard work out of decision making.

There are adventure playgrounds and parks to clamber over and around.  Or hear spooky tales at Arundel Ghost Experience, and take a tour of the old prison cells, reputedly haunted. The award-winning Weald and Downland Open Air Museum has over 45 historic buildings, all rescued from destruction and rebuilt in a parkland setting with woodland walks, working Shire horses, and a 17th century mill.

There’s a soft play area for tots, a huge play frame for older kids and pool tables and a jukebox for teens at the Flying Fortress Ford Airfield - and comfy sofas for parents. Harbour Park,  Littlehampton, offers fun for all the family, with attractions both in and out-side and a 9-hole adventure golf course.  For a fun day out for all the family why not visit Earnley Butterflies and Gardens near Chichester, you will experience 3 attractions in 1!

Be prepared to get lost at the Amazing Maize Maze at Tulleys Farm near Crawley (summer holidays only). With a path network of over three miles over an area of five acres, it’s one of the largest and most intricate puzzles in the world.

Animals are always a hit with children, so visit the meerkats, lemurs and penguins at Drusillas Park in Alfriston; llamas, alpacas and cheeky angora goats at the Ashdown Forest Llama Park and friendly farm animals on the working farm at the Seven Sisters Sheep Centre, Beachy Head, East Dean.

Whatever the weather does there are choices of indoor or outdoor family friendly attractions. The kids will meet new friends, be entertained, learn new things and try new experiences that they’ll want to share, and that makes a better holiday for you.
