Enchanting medieval pilgrim inn. Still a lived-in home. Atmospheric interiors. Unique Elizabethan 'Painted Room'. Charming gardens. Amusing animal topiary. Morning coffee and country house teas served in Victorian Music Room. Corporate hospitality and wedding receptions catered for. Seating for up to 70. Programme of concerts and garden events on request. Public Open Afternoons: May to end of September. Sundays, Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays 2-6pm. Last entry 5pm.
Group visits: April to September. Daily 9-6pm (except public open afternoons)
Gift shop. Car-park. Tourist Board 'Warmest Welcome' commendation 'The best example of late 15th century timber framing in Sussex'. "Highly Commended" in Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2004. Featured in Simon Jenkins' book "England's Thousand Best Houses". Member of the Historic Houses Association.
